Confession [407] - crazyphonelady
Paper Mario is my favorite game. It was the first console game I ever beat on my own, and I think everything about it is perfect. The OST is my favorite soundtrack, the characters are some of my favorite characters ever, the dialogue is clever, and the graphics and artwork are gorgeous.
I HATE Super Paper Mario though. Not because I hated the gameplay or story, though I didn’t like those things as much. I hate Super Paper Mario because it overshadowed my favorite game.
Everyone loved this game, but they either never played or flat out dismissed the first game because of the more simplistic and childish storyline.
I couldn’t understand how anyone could think poorly of my favorite game. I was devastated. Because of this, my initial disappointment with Super Paper Mario turned into the hatred for it that I feel today.
I consider Super Paper Mario a travesty, not just because it was missing a good chunk of the things that made the Paper Mario series my favorite, but because I think if it were released as it’s own separate game instead of part of the Paper Mario series, it could have easily been one of my favorite games.
